I’ve been going to the Gym on and off for around 23 years now. The ‘on’ period I was having approaching Christmas was a pretty good one, starting back in June 2010 I’d been pretty consistent, Foursquare would tell me I was on a 40 week streak, going at least once a week, even through our Texas holiday.

Case Logic SLR Camera Case Holster Review
One thing I want to get more into this year is my photography, so I was delighted when the good people at Lovecases.co.uk offered me this case to test. Obviously the camera, lens, tripod, flash and others are important, but if you don’t have the right camera bag for the job, you’re going to struggle.

Texas 2012
Following last years epic trip to California, we weren’t really sure how we’d follow it in 2012. Initially we’d thought about Florida, possibly even Canada but then I saw the Redskins would be playing the Cowboys on Thanksgiving Day in Cowboys Stadium! Much as I hate the Cowboys, they have arguably the best stadium in the world and I wasn’t going to miss the Redskins playing there on Thanksgiving!
After a quick look on eBay, it wouldn’t be hard to get tickets, so plans started to develop…
Patriots at Rams – Wembley 2012
For the sixth year, the NFL brought two teams over to Wembley to play a regular season game in London. For the sixth year, I was there to see it, along with 84,003 others!
Although we’ve always tried to get good tickets, this year we had the best seats yet. At the 50 yard line, around 20 rows back gave us a great view of every touchdown at either end of the field.

I have to admit, when the first information started coming out about applying for tickets for the Olympics, I really wasn’t too bothered. As Olympic lanes started cropping up in town and Londoners are told to try and stay away if they can, I was probably with others in finding the Olympics a bit of an annoyance.
I have to be honest, this changed as the Olympics started. I was enjoying watching the different events on the TV, it helped that Team GB had a successful start to the games, winning quite a few golds in the opening few days. Me and Robert then spent 4 or 5 days monitoring the ticketing website, trying to grab a ticket to anything within the Olympic Park.

Olympic Torch in Finchley
I can’t say I’m all that excited by the games coming to London. I’m not attending any of the events, anything I see will be on the TV so it could just as easily be somewhere else in Europe and it would make no difference to me.
There is one thing I’ve been able to ‘participate’ in, and that’s to get a look at the torch as it passes by. The torch has made its way round Britain, they say passing within 10 miles of 95% of the population, so with it passing within 300 metres of me, I figured I should make the effort and go see it. Google, privacy and future tech
Last week saw Google host their annual Google IO developer conference in California. Over the past few years they’ve given away some great devices to developers attending, starting back in 2010 with a Google Nexus One, then Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1’s on 2011, this year they gave away a Nexus 7 (tablet with the next version of Android, Jelly Bean) a Nexus Q (Google’s answer to Sonos) and a Galaxy Nexus (which will be receiving Jelly Bean very soon).

My New Hobby
You may have noticed, most of my updates this year are bike related. Well I’m moving it to the next level. Ever since I was told I couldn’t play American Football any more, I’ve been looking for a new hobby. In looking for something less strenuous, I’d considered golf. Instead, I’ve landed on something perhaps even more dangerous than American Football, motorbike racing! Continue reading My New Hobby
Back On The Track – Ron Haslam Race School
So on Thursday I’d been at Brands Hatch and it hadn’t quite gone to plan. A month or so earlier I had also booked Ron Haslam Race School at Silverstone, which perhaps worked for the best as I had no choice but to get back in the sadle and back on the track!
It was to take place on Bank Holiday Tuesday, I was going with a couple of the Waitrose security guys and their friends, a group of six of us in all. Continue reading Back On The Track – Ron Haslam Race School
My First Track Day – Brands Hatch
Over the past couple of months I’d attended two track days as a spectator. A friend was at Snetterton (where I managed to almost loose my DSLR camera) and then in nicer weather at Rockingham Race Track. Even though I wasn’t going onto the track, I really enjoyed hanging out in the pits, taking photo’s and generally soaking in the atmosphere.
So on Thursday last week I was due to attend my first track day, an evening session at Brands Hatch organised through LondonBikers.com. Continue reading My First Track Day – Brands Hatch
